Nick Voulvoulis, professor of environmental technology and deputy director of the Centre of Environmental Policy at Imperial College London gave an overview of the bigger picture around water scarcity. He explained the discrepancy between supply and demand and discussed issues that exist around drinking water, including both infrastructure and accessibility of water supply in the UK and worldwide. Nick considered current regulation and policy and looked at protecting our water supply, the need for integrated solutions (closing the loop and reusing water) and how we all have a role to play.
